Shipping

Bare root or in the pot?

All our plant material is shipped in the pot to ensure a safe and healthy transition from our farm to your location. If bare rooting is necessary to meet individual State Departments of Agriculture requirements, or is the preference of the purchaser, a $3.00 per plant bare rooting fee will be applied.

Prepack Pruning

All our plants are expertly hand pruned by our on-staff horticulturists before they are shipped to you. We do this to ensure the most vigorous growth when you receive them and to keep the size of the plants within a height that is affordable for our customers when considering shipping costs.

How are shipping costs determined and when?

Shipping costs are determined by the length, width, height, weight of each box, distance from our location to yours, and whether it will be shipped ground, overnight, or 2nd day air. There is no set shipping cost and no volume discount unless customers are purchasing in bulk and a freight company has been prearranged for pickup at our location. After your box, or boxes are packaged, they are weighed. The fee is determined by the above parameters and is applied on the day that you are billed.

Inclement Weather and Shipping Days

SUJO Farms, Inc. ships plants throughout the year, however, the weather in your location may not be warm enough for some plants to survive if shipped when an order is placed. We will hold your order and monitor weather conditions with you to make sure your plants arrives alive!

We ship from our location Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of every week depending upon the distance plants will travel from our farm to your location. If, however, you require shipping during inclement weather, SUJO Farms, Inc. and its affiliates negate all responsibility for the quality of the plant material upon arrival and make void all warranties and guarantees that would otherwise have applied, including our 48-hour guarantee.

If I place an order online today, how long will it take to ship?

Generally, we will ship within 10 days. If weather is a problem, we will ship as soon as the weather breaks in your area and will be in contact with you about your order and its expected shipment time. During the height of our busy season, April -June, expect 2-3 weeks before we will be able to ship to you because of the volume of sales we do during that time.

How big are the plants that you ship?  Should I expect a tree or a twig?

We ship plants up to 6 feet. There is an additional cost for oversized packages. Some state restrictions may apply. We hand select every tree that we grow to ensure it is something we would plant in our own back yard. A photo with height and width of every plant will be emailed to you so that you may see what you are purchasing before you receive it.

Any, and all cancellations can be performed up to 24 hours before shipping with no charge to the purchaser. Our staff will be in contact with you the day before shipping to let you know we will be sending your plants.

When and how should I let SUJO Farms know that my plant was damaged upon arrival?

If your box is crushed upon delivery, a picture of the entire box must be taken and sent to us immediately. After, open the box to inspect the plant(s). The customer will be notified before shipment and before being billed.

Who is responsible for shipping costs and do you offer free shipping at any time?

The purchaser is wholly responsible for shipping costs. We do not make money on shipping fees; this is simply the cost to send plants to you from our location. We do not offer free shipping.
